Birchbox July 2013 Review

My giveaway for a Scrubxury body scrub of your choice is still going on! Click here to enter the Scrubxury giveaway. If you've already entered, there's chances every day to get more entries! (9 Days Left!!)

My Birchbox came in this week! I saw everyone else's reviews going up for Birchbox last week so I've been waiting for mine to come in too. I've been getting a lot of good boxes from Birchbox lately so I was pretty anxious to see what I got this time too. Click here to see my past Birchbox reviews. I'm not sure how to tell which number box I got. I see people saying the number that they got for each month but I have no idea how to tell?

Cost: $10/month

If you've never received a subscription box before, I'd recommend Birchbox for sure (or Ipsy)! They're cheap and most of the time, they send out really great products.

Value: $3.21

This is a luminous softening treatment mask for highlighted, sensitized or color-treated hair. Hopefully you dye your hair if you got this in your box too! I know that I'll be using this. I do dye my hair so it would be okay to use. I always look on Amazon for my reviews and a lot of people gave it a 5 star rating!

Value: $1

Here's another one of their products that got a 5 star rating on Amazon too. If I like it, I may have to buy more. This is a shampoo for dyed hair. I like receiving samples of things and finding new stuff, but how am I supposed to know if I like something by only using it once? This packet isn't even going to be enough to cover my hair. I have really long hair so I'd need about 2 or more of these packets to get a nice trial from it.

Value: $0.71

Yay! They got my skintone right so it matches perfectly :) I'm not going to lie though, I have no idea what CC cream or BB cream is. I'm probably a bad beauty blogger for even saying that! If one of my awesome readers could let me know I'd be forever grateful :) I'm really excited that I get to try it out though because I never knew if it was something I wanted to try or not. I love purminerals though! It says that it is a foundation and primer that is SPF 40.

Value: $6.56

This cream fights and controls acne, cleans pores and restores clarity. I don't know about you guys, but I don't really get acne anymore. I still get the occasional pimple here and there but nothing that I ever really worry about. I'll probably save this for those occasional pimples that I get.

I love the picture on this month's packet! The packets are so fun to open :) The following items are my selections from the Tibi collection

Value: $1

This is a face scrub that brightens and even out your skin tone. I've never used a pomegranate face scrub before so I'm really excited to see how good it smells! I like it when there are little scrubbing beads in my washes, it makes me feel like my face is getting cleaner.

Value: $5.25

I am always talking about how I love my face mask so I was really happy to see this in my box! It is supposed to deep clean my skin and refine enlarged pores. I'll probably be using it this weekend because I'm so curious to see how well it works!

Total value of the box: $15.83

I'm not going to lie, this was not my favorite Birchbox. I was hoping for a little less creams and more makeup. My whole box was full of creams this month. I like receiving creams, just not all the time. It was still a good box though! I was introduced to a lot of new brands and products.

Did you get a Birchbox this month? What was your favorite item?

Disclaimer: I bought this box with my own money. All opinions are my own and this post contains referral links.

  1. Hi,

Beauty Balm [or BB] is multifunctional product that contains moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, skin treatment, concealer, and foundation.
[Read here for more deets - http://www.webmd.com/beauty/makeup/beauty-balms-bb-creams]

Color Control / Color Correcting [or CC] is almost the same thing as a BB but provides more color coverage.

    Hope this

    1. Thank you! So it basically seems like an all in one package for face creams.

    2. No worries, anytime. Yup, but I always feel multipurpose products do everything "okay". [Plus, it is so hard to find the shade that matches]If you really want good results, I would think using each product separately [but who really got time for that?] would be the best.

PS. I mean to write..."hope this helps" :)

  3. This box did seem sort of blah. Sorry, it want more exciting. Thanks for sharing because it definitely reconfirmed that discontinuing my birchbox was the right decision for me. Hopefully next month is better.
