Bubblegum Princess Book Review

I received an opportunity to review a brand new children's book called Bubblegum Princess! It was actually just released on July 22nd, 2013 (the day that the royal baby was on). This book is all about the royal family and a little girl who loves to chew bubblegum.

"Once upon a time in a land not far from here, there lived a young lady named Katy. She was delightfully witty, extraordinarily kind, and decidedly brilliant. However, young lady Katy had one unmistakably unladylike habit.  She loved blowing bubblegum bubbles."

When I started reading this book to my nieces and nephews, I kept thinking about how many big words there were in it. There were more big words in it than any other children's book I have ever read. It made me wonder what the recommended ages were. So I looked on the Amazon page and found a review where someone said the read it to 3-8 year olds and they loved it! So I'm guessing that a good age range for this book would be 3-8 years old.

Overall, I thought that this book was very well written. My nieces and nephews absolutely loved it. The younger ones loved looking at the pretty pictures and the older ones loved sounding out all of the words. I thought that it was really fun that it was all about the Royal family, especially with all the commotion about the Royal family right now! It was a very fun book and the kiddies really enjoyed it!

  1. I thought the same thing about the big words when I read that blurb! It would definitely keep an older child interested, I love how the words flow together!
