Ipsy My Glam Bag August 2013 Review

The pink foil bag came in my mail this week so you know what that means, my Ipsy Glam Bag has arrived! Ipsy was the very first beauty subscription box that I have ever gotten so I'm pretty loyal to them. I bought a years subscription when I first started and I can't believe that the year is almost up, I started back in November 2012. If you've never gotten a subscription box before, I recommend starting with Ipsy. It's cheap and their bags get better every month!

Cost: $10/month

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ipsy, it is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends only deluxe-size samples and full-sized products plus a makeup bag every month. Click here to see my past Ipsy reviews.

Value: $8

A couple of months ago, Ipsy started a rewards program. If you recommend 2 friends, then they send you a special gift and this was my gift for the month. I've received Urban Decay eyeshadow and Nicole nail polish before too. The value of this polish alone is almost what I paid for the bag! I've never used Lime Crime before but I have read a blog from a girl who absolutely loves their brand so I think that I'm going to like it too! If you click the link below the picture, it takes you to a good picture of what a swatch of this color looks like. It's a very bright yellow!

Value: $15.26

MICA Beauty seems like it's been a pretty popular brand in a lot of my Ipsy bags lately. I think that I have at least 3 products from them in my makeup bag. I really like the quality of their products though and I don't mind getting them at all! I haven't had any complaints so far.

Value: $5.23

I LOVE Pacifica products! They make the best smelling lotions and they make great products too. I can't wait to see how their BB cream tests out on my skin. I'm hoping that it'll be good enough for me to want to buy a bigger bottle!

Value: $9.69

There are some really amazing products in this month's bag! I'm always talking about how much I love my face masks and I've never tried one with pumpkin in it before. I've never tried Michael Todd products before but I love trying different brands so I'm pretty excited to try this out too.

Value: $0.45

A girl can never have too much mascara, right? I can't say that I've ever tried PIXI mascara but I can't wait to try it now! I love getting the smaller tubes of mascara, I can't even remember the last time that I bought mascara on my own anymore!

Value: $3.99

Yay!! I love getting lip balm in my subscription boxes, they always send different brands that I've never tried before. The packaging is really cute and I love cherry flavored chapstick!

Total Value of the Bag: $42.62

What did you get in your Ipsy Glam Bag this month? Are you thinking about signing up now? The value of this month's bag was awesome!

Disclaimer: I paid for this bag with my own money, all opinions are my own. This post includes referral links.

  2. I loved my bag this month. I got the charcoal face scrub instead of the mask, which I was hoping to get, but I'm loving it so far. I signed up for monthly to start, but now wish I went with yearly. I wish you could switch instead of having to cancel and re-subscribe because I don't want to end up on the waitlist.

  5. The pumpkin masks smells and has the texture of spit up baby food. It really isn't good :( i have the charcoal mask also and that is much better! Also the pumpkin mask has made a lot of people get rashes. I started feeling like my face was on fire when I used it and was red all night so be careful when you try it!

  6. Thanks so much for the detailed review. I am constantly trying to decide whether or not to subscribe to one of these boxes, and if yes to which one. I've been thinking about Ipsy for a while, since it is good bang for the buck (a cheap buck at that). Your review sold me!

PS: just found your blog, and really love it. Keep up the good work chica!

  7. I so totally wanted that pumpkin mask until I saw that it was not suitable for sensitive skin and might cause severe burning! I'll have to live vicariously through you since you always try out the best masks!

    Cheers,
