The people over at Skin Actives were nice enough to send me a sample of their Vitamin A Cream! I was more than happy to try their product out because I use creams for my skin every day. I'm always searching for a cream that won't make my skin oily or greasy. Two of my main concerns with my skin are; oil and redness. My face just as this natural redness to it most days so I like to use products that might calm it down a little.

"Vitamin A is needed by the retina of the eye in the form of a specific metabolite, the light-absorbing molecule retinal. Vitamin A is also crucial for our skin: when oxidized to retinoic acid, it is a growth factor for epithelial cells, where it binds to two different nuclear receptors to control gene transcription."

In a nutshell, the Vitamin A Cream is supposed to improve wrinkles, acne and pores.

I've been using their product every night for about the last 3 weeks. My initial thought when I opened the jar was that it had a light smell. I don't like creams that have obvious artificial scents so this was perfect for me. To me, it seemed like a natural scent so I really liked that. The cream wasn't too thick but it wasn't too thin either. After putting it on the first night, I discovered that it did not make my skin oily the next day, there's another plus for me.

One of the things that Skin Actives warns you about on their label is that this product may increase your likelihood of getting sunburned. Personally, I didn't notice any extra sensitivity to the sun but it may have been my skin type. I always use sun screen on my face if I know I am going to be outside for awhile.

I did notice a decrease in the redness in my face as well as the size of my pores within the last 3 weeks. I'd say that Skin Actives made a pretty good product! I love that it's a cream that you put on before you go to sleep so that it starts working throughout the night. I am very happy with my Vitamin A cream!

  1. This sounds like a great product. I'd love to try it since I have a conbination skin that gets really oily in my t-zone, and have large pores.
