Ipsy My Glam Bag January 2014 Review

I'm always excited to see the pink foil package in my mailbox because that always means that my Ipsy bag is finally here! Ipsy was one of the first subscription services that I ever tried and I have loved it ever since. I've seen other people's reviews for this month and I was a little leery to see what I got because I wasn't too excited about anybody else's bag.

Cost: $10/month

This month's themes was, "19 Reasons Why 2014 Will Be Amazing". On first look, I'm not a huge fan of this month's bag. It's just not my style and I've already noticed a dirt mark on it. I stay subscribed to Ipsy because while some months they have flops, other month's they have all amazing products. $10 is within my budget so I feel like I can afford some not so good month's.

This hydrating facial cleanser is supposed to remove makeup while refreshing the skin. I'm all about keeping my skin looking healthy so I'm all over trying out this product!

I have no idea how to price these because Proactiv only sells their products in kits... $2 was my best guesstimate! I've never tried out Proactiv before because I've never really had very bad acne. I'll get the stray pimple here and there but it's never been something that I've had a huge problem with. These mark fading pads are supposed to clear old acne scars, I don't have any of those either. Has anybody ever tried Proactiv? What did you think of it?

I think that Ipsy has a partnership with Mica Beauty because I've received their products in a lot of my bags. I'm not complaining though because I've never had a problem with any of the Mica Beauty products that they've sent! I'm not a huge fan of this color lip balm that they sent me though... It's more of the type of color that I would use for my eyes, not my lips. I like my lip gloss to be a little brighter, this is more of a nude color.

Props to Ipsy for this shade of liquid foundation, it matches my skin tone perfectly! This is even a full-sized bottle. Although, I'm not much of a liquid foundation user, I'm more of your all natural minerals type of girl. To be honest, I don't think that I've ever given liquid foundation a try. This may be the perfect time to try it out! Hopefully it doesn't make my skin look oily. According to the website, it shouldn't.

My hair is one of the most important things to me so I'm always looking for new ways to take care of it! My hair gets brittle sometimes and this is supposed to give it strength, hopefully it works as well as it says it does!

Total Value: $55.84

Final Thoughts: This wasn't exactly my favorite Ipsy bag but it definitely was not the worst. I was hoping for a few more makeup products but I got a lot of creams and other beauty products. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 star rating.

Did you get an Ipsy bag this month? What were your thoughts on it?

  2. I got the exact same items. I had no clue that foundation was full size! I loved everything in the bag and I agree about the color of the lip balm. I gave it to my teenage cousin!
