Ipsy My Glam Bag February 2014 Review

I was extra excited about my Ipsy bag this month because I had redeemed some of my Ipsy points and I was excited to get them! I started getting Ipsy over a year again, in November 2012 and I've loved it ever since. They always have high quality beauty items for an affordable price. They used to send out the same items to everyone each month but now they've gone to curating the bags to the things that you like and don't like.

Cost: $10/month

This month's theme was "The Look of Love".

Beauty Blender ($1.64)

I've heard amazing things about the beauty blender, I'm surprised that I haven't gotten it in a subscription box before. The beauty blender is supposed to blend in your liquid foundation and creams (like bb cream). From all the reviews that I've seen, it's amazing. The little bottle is a sample of cleaning solution. I hear that it's not necessary to clean the blender though, you can use water too.

I've never been any good at doing my nails so trying to use this might become difficult for me. I can't decide if I want to keep it or if I want to give it away to a friend... I think it's great and it would be a lot of fun to use but I'm not sure how well I'm going to be able to use it!

This month's Ipsy bag looked pretty simple, just a pink bag for Valentine's Day. But on the inside....

There was pink cheetah print! I love it.

This is a very pretty shade of lip gloss. I have several different products from POP and I've liked all of them. I don't wear lip gloss very often though. At work I always wear chapstick and only put on lipstick/lip gloss in the morning.

Doesn't this look like lip gloss?? When I first saw it I for sure thought that it was more lip gloss. But it's actually eyeshadow! It the perfect color for me too. I only wear natural colors for my eyeshadow so this is absolutely perfect for me!

I have no idea how much product is in this bottle so I can't determine a specific value. The shade matches my skin tone perfectly and it seems to work rather well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the bottle was nearly empty. I had to squeeze really hard just to get a drop out. I almost thought that there wasn't even anything in it.

I love, love, love this color and the Zoya brand! They always make high quality polishes and this shade is absolutely perfect. Whenever I see light pink shades like this it always reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. I've already applied it to my nails and it looks great! Since it is a lighter color, I had to apply 3 coats of it to my nails.

Be Matte Blush ($2.99)

This is a new brand to me. I've never even tried Matte blush to be honest. I think it's interesting though and I can't wait to try it. Since it is Matte, I have a feeling that it is going to be pigmented and go a long way!

Total Value: $35.99

  1. I was hoping for the peony lipgloss color but I got the (electric) freeschia - I think I'll keep it for an 80's party!

  2. I think you got much cooler stuff than I did! I think I'll have my review up on Monday.

  3. The small bottle of cleansing fluid might be worth $1.65, but a Beauty Blender is $19.95 - although sometimes you can find it as low as $16.00. I also use my Beauty Blender cleanser to clean my brushes, it smells nice. You scored big!

  4. Wow, so many things I want in your bag! I got Ipsy last month (Jan) and I hated it. There was nothing that I really liked in the bag, so I canceled it. Glad to see they upped their game this month. Really love the lip gloss color and the Zoya polish. And the nail kit! You can give that to me! :)
